10 minutes to prepare and 7 hours to cook


  1. Fry the veg until softens slightly
  2. Put in slow cooker
  3. Add herbs
  4. Add purée and Worcester
  5. Add 600/700ml hot water
  6. Crumble over stock cubes
  7. Add pepper to the cornflour and Rub the cornflour on the beef chunks
  8. Fry for a few minutes until browned
  9. Add to slow cooker
  10. Cook slowly all day until beef melts in your mouth .


  • 1 onion
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 parsnips
  • 3 bay leaves
  • Handful of thyme
  • 2 tbsp tomato purée
  • 2 tbsp Worcester sauce
  • 3 beef stock cubes
  • 900g beef
  • Cornflour 2 tsp
  • Handful of parsley
